Sydney born Phillip Bolliger began learning classical guitar at age eleven and entered the conservatoriumĀ  High School in year 7, finishing high school there and continuingĀ  on to complete a Performers diploma in guitar. On a QE II Scholarship he furthered his studies in Vienna and Basel with European guitar masters.

He is active as a guitar teacher and performer and as a young musician won several prizes for his playing including the 2MBS FM Young Performers Competition and was a finalist in an International Guitar Competition in Neuchatel Switzerland. Also a composer he has written and arranged various works mostly involving guitar and has also written some orchestral music. As a guitarist he has performed with local Sydney orchestras works including Rodrigos Concierto de Aranjuez and Fantasia para Gentilhombre as well as concertos by Vivaldi. He has also played as an accompanist with many fine violinists, flautists and singers.
